Undergraduates: electives

Electives are subjects not included in the core subjects you are required to take for the Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) stream.

Some students select a subject that interests them in another stream of engineering.

Elective subjects can also be chosen from the first-year subjects offered through the Faculty of Arts, Economics & Commerce, Law and Science.

In the past, electives chosen by students have included:

• 316-101 Introductory Macroeconomics
• 316-102 Introductory Microeconomics

Languages from the Arts Faculty (languages normally require a 6.25 overload).

• 136-101 History of Astronomy
• 136-105 Science, Philosophy & History
• 136-029 Darwinism

Studies from other Faculties are subject to meeting prerequisites and in some cases obtaining the approval of the other Faculty. Care must be taken to avoid timetable clashes.
